The Rocking Roadrunners' final recording effort was Urban Meadows, recorded in a small studio in the Pine Hills section of Orlando, Florida. The Roadrunners had become a well known group in Florida by the time they went into the studio for their third, and final time. By this time the band had appeared at numerous Radio WLOF appearances, and had received countless live appearances on the air, performing at various live broadcast sessions for the top rock radio station in the market.
It was at this time that the group was approached by the WLOF morning man, DJ Pat O'Day, whose real name was Jerry Thompson. A man whose talents weren't limited to the on-air venue, Jerry was a great producer. He dabbled in song writing, aside from his regular production work for radio commercials used on the air. As you can tell from this recording of Urban Meadows, both penned and produced by Jerry, he was a deep-thinking kind of guy, and was a real pleasure for us to work with, both in the studio and on the air at WLOF.
